What is Art for you?
Self expression, communication, and beauty. An extension of one's inner world - be it of the artist herself or the person loving a specific artwork. Art carries the power to create change - for moments or prolonged periods of time - in our inner and outer worlds.
What is chocolate to you?
a delightful vehicle for making connections. The creator of bloom, which is the visual, awe-inspiring manifestation of the movement of particles. It is also what I make a living from :)
What inspires you, and this illustration in particular?
The expressive human body. Relationships. Nature. Style. Hairstyles. Emotions. This particular piece was created in 2005 for the cover of "Top 50 Cafes in Tel Aviv". Originally, the characters had cigarettes between their fingers and the newspaper the guy is reading was a local one (in Hebrew).
What inspires your photography?
Photography is a long time hobby of mine. Squares in Nature is an ongoing project of capturing beauty during my daily walks.
When it comes to photography, its all about beauty and awe of shape, color and movement captured in a frame. I am mesmerized by the details of natural objects when viewed very close up. This is where I find the "oneness" of all things in the universe.

D'ARt Denver, CO, USA
The founders and owners of DAR, Gila and Joel, love the eye of the camera. They frame the world to give poetically inspiring meaning to our visual surroundings.
Joel adds: "Life is a continuation of the movies by other means". When you view life as a movie, many things can be seen as if through a camera lens.
What is Art for you?
Gila:Self expression, communication, and beauty. An extension of one's inner world - be it of the artist herself or the person loving a specific artwork. Art carries the power to create change - for moments or prolonged periods of time - in our inner and outer worlds.
Joel - The transfer of ideas and feelings from the creator's mind to his work, the medium, and in turn to the mind of the viewer and/or listener.
What is chocolate to you?
Gila: A blessing in disguise (read more about how that became to be here).
Joel: Food of the gods. That we were gifted.
What inspires your photography?
Gila: Movement. Nature.
Joel: To discover new looks in ordinary things. To "see" a story in them and to try to tell it.
What inspired these particular pieces?
Costa Rica / Cactus - The intimacy of the thorny giant.
Dominican Republic / Palm Trees - The fragility of their look, yet, still there... symbolic and typical, yet beyond definition. Rooted down, yet aiming towards the sky.
Tanzania / Chocolate Zen Circle - The beauty of unexpected chocolate forms.
Vietnam / Weeds - lightness and delicacy.
Colombia / Weeds - orderly chaos of a flowing, curvy dance.
