Sam Bryson Vail, CO, USA
I was born in North Yorkshire to an English mother and American father. I moved to Vail, Colorado in 2012 to pursue a career in the ski industry through coaching and later Ski Patrol. I've had a camera in hand since I was ten years old. My father taught me the basics and I've been honing the craft from then on.
What is Art for you?
With my photography, I try to capture those fleeting moments of beauty - a passing elk, a candid smile, or a glorious sunrise over the West's immense landscapes.
What is chocolate to you?
An indulgence, a luxury, or a small piece of happiness on a hard day.
What inspires you, and this piece in particular?
I was down in the San Luis Valley to capture the sandhill crane migration. In the Monte Vista National Wildlife Refuge this small pond held an enormous number of geese, and I managed to silhouette a gaggle of them taking off from the water.
